PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
 

    Sole Practitioner 2002- Present Represent clients charged in criminal cases in both state and federal court at both trial and appellate court levels. Represent clients in civil, juvenile and orphan’s court. Special prosecutor for the Pennsylvania and Montgomery County SPCA prosecuting animal cruelty cases across the state.  

    Mental Health Advocate 2006 - 2009 Represented Montgomery County at hundreds of mental health hearings at Norristown State Hospital.  

    Deputy Solicitor 2007-2008 Appointed by Chief County Solicitor Michael D. Marino as Deputy Solicitor. Practiced many aspects of civil and municipal law. Served as solicitor for Adult Probation, Mental Health/Mental Retardation, Health Department, Planning Commission, Parks Department, Aging and Adult Services and Human Resources.   

    Chief Public Defender 2004-2006 Appointed by Board of Commissioners to head Lehigh County Public Defender’s Office. Responsible for training, hiring, and directing a staff of 18 attorneys.   

    Conflicts Counsel 2003-2004 Assigned by Board of Judges to handle criminal defense cases.  Responsible for trial and appellate litigation. 

    Assistant Public Defender 2002 - 2003 Represented criminal defendants for all levels and types of crimes.      

    Associate - Black & Gerngross 2001-2002 Responsible for legal research, motions, pleadings, briefs and litigation in a variety of areas of the law. Litigated arbitrations and handled both plaintiff and defense cases. 

MONTGOMERY COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY’S OFFICE  

     Chief of Special Prosecutions Unit 1999-2001 Created and headed the County Task Force responsible for the revitalization of Norristown. Obtained federal and state grants and supervised the day-to-day operation of a team of police officers, deputy sheriffs and county detectives. 

      Chief of Major Crimes Unit 1996-1999 Trial attorney responsible for the managing and training of personnel as well as the prosecution and trial litigation of major crimes, including murder and other major felonies. Tried approximately 50 jury trials including death penalty while handling a case load of two hundred cases at any given time. Handled cases in all areas of criminal law. 

       Assistant District Attorney 1993-1996 Trial attorney responsible for handling and trying of various criminal cases, including homicide, DUI, aggravated assault, robbery, white collar thefts and other major felonies.
